    Astonishment:Hermès in Camargue

Imagine a scene like this: Manadiers wrangle a herd of galloping Camargue horses through a marshland before you. The sound of their thundering hooves resonate in your soul. Should we add a sunset  dropping onto the horizon for a poetic touch? Should the horses gallop off into it?  Yes Please.  This may sound like a brain session between writers making the next epic film but no, just Pierre Alexis Dumas, the artistic director for Hermès being Dumas. “Astonishment is a human quality: it’s the ability to wonder, to surprise ourselves, and to reinvent ourselves.” So said Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director of [...]

    JUMP for Hermès

Everyone knows we are huge Hermès fans here. We try to implement their style into our fashion shoots, we have featured the luxury brand numerous times and we follow their Coversations in Movement video series as well. As equestrians, it's official we all covet Hermès. It was exciting to see our favorite house playing homage to the sport by lining the entrance to the runway with jumper poles. It was even more fun to see the play on the jumper colors and poles in the new collection.  Without a doubt, if you're an equestrian you can find folly in the [...]

THE CLASSIC It's time! Saturday November 3 it's the running of the BREEDERS' CUP CLASSIC! How many of you West Coasters are bumming out right now that you're not at Santa Anita or Del Mar today? I am. For the last few years we have always designed our Novembers' around the Cup. ON TRACK with HERMES SS19

So you couldn't imagine our excitement when we found out that HERMES was showing it's latest SPRING RTW 2019 collection at the Longines racetrack.  We had just finished our latest  issue (due out October 23) where we featured OTTB aftercares and actually shot an editorial at a racetrack. Naturally, we all  patted ourselves on the back for being so on point with the future. LOL. We like doing that, patting ourselves on the backs, it's what keeps us going as equestrians. Needless to say, the Hermes collection, devoid of anything horsey this time around,  walked an unusual, sophisticated line between [...]

    Harnessing the Roots

Who doesn't love themselves some vintage Hermès? Well I know I do so of course we couldn't wait to check out the latest exhibit in Beverly Hills. The exhibit is free to the public but it ends tomorrow! So if you're in the LA area get your tushy over the hill and check it out. “Harnessing the Roots” is designed by Bruno Gaudichon, the curator of “La Piscine” Museum of Art and Industry in Roubaix, France, who worked with scenographer Laurence Fontaine. Together, they decided to arrange the objects by theme rather than chronology, focusing on harnesses and their metamorphoses. [...]
