GUCCI Is back Welcome Sabato De Sarno

For the last, ya know I don't even remember when  began not 'getting'  the new Gucci. I mean bravo for bringing the logo, the stripes and the iconic bit loafer and riding boot back but beyond that none of it made sense to me. Clearly, I wasn't hip enough. But that's neither here nor there. Enter the debut show for Sabato De Sarno. Now Gucci once again makes sense to me and probably many other GenXers who wore all of the thrift store Gucci looking crap back in the 90s and vowed never to do that 'look' ever again, hence [...]

The collaboration was rooted in a chance meeting between Stella and Deepak Chopra last year. During this meeting she was immediately inspired to involve herself with The Chopra Foundation and the work it has been doing to support adolescent mental health it was there that the collaboration of  Healing Power of Horses was born. Call to Action

Image by Kimerlee Curyl CALL TO ACTION Call the Capitol Hill Switchboard at 202-225-3121 and ask to be connected to your Representative. You will likely be asked to leave a message. Simply say: “I'm a constituent, and I'm calling to ask you to please support messaging in line with 2022's H.R. 9154, the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Protection Act. This language included in the comprehensive bill would deliver meaningful change to how wild horses and burros are managed and promote real transparency and accountability for a federal program that has cost taxpayers billions.”  There is a “pink horse” in the room [...]

    #istandwithwildhorses

LOS ANGELES, June 5, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- The filmmakers behind the powerful documentary "Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the West" announced the launch of the advocacy website IStandWithWildHorses.com to bring awareness to the plight of wild horses and stop the cruel and often deadly use of aircraft to pursue and capture wild horses in taxpayer-funded roundups. As exposed in the groundbreaking documentary, the U.S. government often uses helicopters to terrify wild horses, separate them from their families and force them into captivity. For decades, the Bureau of Land Management, driven by corporations and special-interests to reduce the number of wild horses, has contracted private [...]

    Astonishment:Hermès in Camargue

Imagine a scene like this: Manadiers wrangle a herd of galloping Camargue horses through a marshland before you. The sound of their thundering hooves resonate in your soul. Should we add a sunset  dropping onto the horizon for a poetic touch? Should the horses gallop off into it?  Yes Please.  This may sound like a brain session between writers making the next epic film but no, just Pierre Alexis Dumas, the artistic director for Hermès being Dumas. “Astonishment is a human quality: it’s the ability to wonder, to surprise ourselves, and to reinvent ourselves.” So said Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director of [...]

    Talk Derby 2020

So the year has been rather blah. We can admit it. The Derby didn't run in May, The Belmont ran first and here on Labor day weekend we are celebrating the Derby without fans just private invites. All of this pandemic chaos aside, we still have some amazing horses racing towards that garland of roses. Here's where the racers stand today. Finnick the Fierce and  King Guillermo scratched. So it looks as if there will be a 16 horse field. Tiz the Law came in this morning with 3-5 odds on winning. I love everything about this horse but I [...]

This makes for a Movie right?

I think we can all agree that taxes are well 'taxing'. The time, preparation and fear that rolls around every year is tiresome at best, but we all agree it's something we have to do. Well most of us. I came across this twist of a story today (yes, I know I'm a little late) about 14 world-class jumpers going to be auctioned off by the US treasury department online.  Okay, you caught my attention. A tale of a father, Alejandro Andrade, unraveled. Apparently, Andrade was sentenced to 10 years in prison in November for money laundering and as part [...]
